Capital Digestive Care welcomes Dr. Darryn Potosky, a highly-trained gastroenterologist to its practice. He will be receiving patients at Capital Digestive Care’s Maryland offices in Columbia and Laurel. Dr. Potosky brings a wealth of experience across a broad spectrum of digestive health issues.
Prior to joining Capital Digestive Care, Dr. Potosky served as a director in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He has been named one of the area’s top doctors under 40 by Baltimore Sun magazine.
Dr. Potosky’s career in medicine was inspired by a personal experience with a family member who battled a chronic liver disease. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland at College Park and graduating summa cum laude, Dr. Potosky continued his medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine – Baltimore where he graduated magna cum laude. He later completed his fellowship training also at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Potosky’s personal philosophy is that it is important to not only take excellent care of his patients but to also educate them about their health. In addition to having a record of dedication to patient care, Dr. Potosky’s work has been published in peer-reviewed publications, as well as national and international meetings.
Dr. Potosky currently maintains a faculty appointment at the University of Maryland as a clinical assistant professor. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
